The event is held under the patronage of Minister of Oil and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Busairi. The exhibition, held since 2008, will also offer young high school students the chance to take part in a science and mathematics competition, comprising 200 schools in the country. The annual competition will be held in both Arabic and English languages, and aims to encourage youngsters to assume these fields in their future endeavours, Executive Chairman of the KSF competition, Asil Al-Terkait told KUNA. Exxonmobil head in Kuwait Faisal bin Saeed said that the event would hopefully further promote the status of science and discovery in Kuwait. The students will be asked to present their scientific inventions, after which 100 of these will be chosen as candidates for an arbitration panel, including top engineers and specialists employed in Kuwaiti oil and scientific firms. The panel set November 20th as the deadline for the contest submissions while the 28th of the same month would be for the winners announcement. *Via Kuwait NRI/KUNA |
